M83’s Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming has some striking similarities to U2’s The Joshua Tree.

Particular points of interest are how the albums start off identically (“Intro” = “Where the Streets Have No Name”) and how M83’s “Reunion” sounds like Edge’s guitar work with Chris Martin’s songwriting/voice. (Bono > Chris Martin IMO)

…It’s also kind of a decent way to tell that M83’s album isn’t quite the masterpiece they say it is. It’s good, but it’s no Joshua Tree.
